The passage goes on to talk about the time spent in life as a series of undulations, the peaks, and troughs through which everyone is constantly at the mercy of. The periods of interests in work, health issues, changes in friends, fad and fancies, hobbies, and interests, in fact all the things that constantly make the journey through life go up and down.
There is a striving of late for a wellbeing approach to living. Natural food, healthy lifestyle, stress relief, abstinence for drugs, alcohol and chemicals and to undertake a more holistic stance to our existence.
Meditation was something that I learnt to do years ago. The art of simply finding the time to devote to doing nothing more than being in tune with how your body feels, how it is reacting and learning how to slow everything down, even for just a few minutes.
It si not for everyone … but it is for me and I enjoy the instant escape it gives me for whatever else is going on around me.
