Just look what I organised at the library …
Adoption Day - 10th August 2019 I tasked Stevenston Creative Writing group (SCWG) to donate a toy from a charity shop and write a story about it. The toys stayed in the library for children to choose and on Adoption Day they got to take them home, plus a booklet containing stories written by members of the Stevenston Creative Writing Group and some photos of what their toy got up to when no one was watching. I have to say … it was great fun. |

Stevenston Creative Writing Group (on tour) 2014
Millport, Great Cumbrae, Nth Aryshire
Friday 3rd October 2014 I always maintain that it is very rare for anything totally brilliant to be achieved in a creative writing workshop and that the whole premise is to simply provide opportunities to gather ideas for things to be worked on at a later date. Inspiration often comes from the most unlikely places so getting out and about gives our own personal muse a bit of a stretch. Click HERE to read more about our motivational beano. |

Briarcourt Community Gardens (2010)
Briarcourt was created by famed architect Edgar Wood in 1896. In recent times it has been a residential home, a day centre and offices.
Briarcourt Gardens, a Kirklees Adult Services project was started in 1998, as part of a system of day care activities for adults with learning disabilities. The garden project offers work as an alternative to day care for adults, regardless of their disability. In January 2010 the project moved to the newly build Highfields Day Centre to landscape and transform the site into a garden accessible for all with disabilities to enjoy. I helped some current service users to put together a calendar of the house and gardens. |
