A Year to clear what is holding you back by Stephanie Bennett Vogt
It is all about slowing down, taking time for yourself and establishing new habits that will last a lifetime.
Theme – Letting in the Light
The focus this week was to play with energy and different energy signatures.
Have you noticed how some energies feel differently than others?
This got me thinking about all the times I instinctively know things are not right. I don’t mean anything huge that will change the world but just situations that for some reason have me on edge. Jobs are a main source for this. Sometimes I just know that things are not going to work out for me and although I can’t often say why that is exactly the result. It’s hard to explain without giving real-time examples which would identify people and organisations (which I don’t want to be accused of doing) but the times when tell-tale-signs should really be acknowledged even if it is no possible to act on them. The awareness that there is subterfuge to make sure I break the rules so that there is a legitimate cause for dismissal, or when my contact is suddenly terminated because I high-light a breech in professional conduct, or simply because I have more experience and qualifications than my new bosses and I know that everything will be done to get rid of me to protect their job. I also know instantly if I will fit into new places and get a really uncomfortable feeling when I know I will not … that inner knowledge that not matter what I do I will always be the outsider.
Then there are the times when the opposite is the case. The times when a place and people feel so comfortable that it’s as if I have been involved for years. The inner knowledge that everything is okay to be me without any fear of repercussions (either from others or from myself).
As I have got older I have learnt to recognise the differences and avoid the negative energies certain places and people give out and to concentrate on the positive, where I know I will be safe.
In what ways have you become more of a witnessing presence in your life?
I am a perfectionist and need to accept that it is okay when things are not perfect.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. If no one is getting hurt, nothing is actually getting ruined and it is just you that is miffed because things are not going the way you planned … so what. Your take on how things should pan out are not the same as everyone else’s – compromise.
In what ways do you feel lighter, sparklier, and clearer this week?
I think the words, ‘must-try-harder’ come to mind … this has not been a good week for me to sparkle. My health has not been as good as it could be and there has been a death in the family. Even though it wasn’t unexpected the impact of such a thing is always hard.
However, I really love this quote from Stephanie Bennett Vogt …
We shine light by being a witness. We receive light by being vulnerable.
We become light when we bring the two together.
My time to sparkle is obviously still to come.
