A Year to clear what is holding you back by Stephanie Bennett Vogt
It is all about slowing down, taking time for yourself and establishing new habits that will last a lifetime.
Dialing down a task or time spent so as not to elicit the stress response.
Small efforts applied consistently over time are the real game changer!
- Did you notice if it was easier or harder to accomplish a one-minute task?
- Did one-minute clearing morph into more minutes spent without your even noticing the passage of time?
- Did the length of your list (of things you'd like to release) increase your sense of anxiety and overwhelm?
To be honest I am not sure I am embracing this concept fully, at the moment. I still seem to have good intentions and still not get things done regardless of the tasks lists I set myself. I get distracted and then procrastination sets in. I need to install the habit of working through one thing to the end regardless of whatever else is on offer (like playing online games, or social media). Once I get started on something and it is given my undivided attention then great things are achieved with far more time spent doing peripheral aspects of the same task … it is the getting going that is difficult, no matter how much I want to be doing it.
The only way to get things done is to make a start … I need to find my start button.
