A Year to clear what is holding you back by Stephanie Bennett Vogt
It is all about slowing down, taking time for yourself and establishing new habits that will last a lifetime.
Theme – Getting Spacious
What it means to be spacious.
- What does it feel like to address loose ends in your home or life that make you feel scattered? In what ways do you feel less scattered (or more) this week?
- Has your motivation increased/decreased regards clearing areas of your home and life?
The "five S's of clearing" - slow down, simplify, sense, surrender, and self-care … seem to work well for me. Although I am not sure I am more organised as far as clutter goes within my house or mind, but I am beginning to pay attention to the things that need to be addressed before the whole thing gets on top of me and I don’t know where to start.
I am also becoming less of a slave to procrastination with regards to the little things that need doing. Rather than simply acknowledge that they need doing, if possible I do them straight away. I am thus making less lists because there are less things I need to remember to do later.
The end result is that because I am not wasting so much time on paying attention to what still needs to be done I seem to have more spare time because I am simply doing the things that can be done straight away.
I have had a couple of days of house-repairs and visitors and but engaged more with the principles of lesson 96 (to clear-up as things went along) and as a result rather than having to undertake a mass tidy/clean-up job once everything was completed and people had gone, there was very little to do.
If I learn nothing else … this I have got to make a habit for life.
