Mere Christianity – C. S. Lewis (1952)
The key point that I picked up on in this quote is the reference to her, simply because the majority of religious teachings have a man as the protagonist and instantly conjured up in my mind the notion of Mother Nature being the heart of everything.
That said, it would then imply that far from the earth being in the control of a ruling deity that it is a more natural cycle that governs the word, and if so then this seems to a passage within a Christian publication that supports evolution over creation (science over religion).
In scientific terms evolution is a theory and the definition of the term theory is … a set of principles on which the practice of an activity is based. Therefore, if taken in literal terms this could also apply to religion. Granted there are not many experiments that could be conducted to try and prove the theory of faith, but then all scientific research can also be subject the interpretation. The same results can be obtained when the experiment is conducted in the same way but will yield different results if even the slightest change occurs.
