A Year to clear what is holding you back by Stephanie Bennett Vogt
It is all about slowing down, taking time for yourself and establishing new habits that will last a lifetime.
The career path I want to take is to promote myself as a Therapeutic Story Writing tutor and to facilitate events. My problem is that I put even trying off as I have a fear of rejection. So, if I don’t put myself out there I can’t be knocked back … right.
I have big ideas and basically know what I should be doing but … and this is the problem I let myself succumb to the old adage of procrastination. If I keep busy with all the things that really don’t need to be done, then I can honestly say that I just didn’t have time but, what is really happening is that I didn’t prioritise, or more to the point … I simply hid from the things I should have been doing.
So, in the last week I have made a few very important little steps forward.
Exercise – Reoccurring Habit
I have started to concentrate on one aspect of the new venture every night by reading text books and making notes, rather than reading stories and I have made sure I do this religiously. I have cleared the over-bed table so that the books, pens, highlighter, notebook etc. are all just there ready so there is no excuse for not doing it.
I am also going to blog a review of this course at the end of each week.
