From the moment I rise I countdown the hours
Waste too much time on the Internet
Catching-up with all gossip
And what’s going on in places I’ve never heard of
By people I don’t know
Brunch
Writing for what’s left of the morning
Then lunch
And rearranging the list of the things I have to do
More writing
Afternoon tea
More writing
Then cooking dinner
The evening
Gin and mindless television
Nine is the new midnight
Give it an hour and so to bed
To slumber under the duvet
Until the wee small hours
Watching the clock
Mind racing
The Sandman
Off on a different adventure
Count too many sheep
The bedroom’s overcrowded
Then just as mother nature paints the morning with light
Sleep
Just for a bit …
Don’t want to be late for another thrilling day
