Mere Christianity – C. S. Lewis (1952)
This quote makes more sense to me if it is applied to all religions. As far as I am concerned it should really make no difference to any individual as to the chosen faith of another human being, provided that it is not used as a weapon against individuals or humanity in general.
The problem I have with both religions and atheism is that more often than not the personal choices are held as the only one that is right. As such discord can easily be achieved through simply advocating that those that are not of that persuasion are wrong which makes them feel that their life path choice is being disregarded.
No one likes to think that they are being criticised for anything and everyone has the right to their own opinions, therefore the only way to live successfully would be to respect each other.
Tall order though … especially right now.
