The estate was not in a deprived area, there was no drugs or gang culture. It was for all intense and purpose a respectable place to live. The people were not affluent, there were no posh cars on the drives and although most had jobs they were low paid, many were just scraping by. Covid-19 changed all that. Workplaces closed, leaving people stranded and reliant on social security, that was a laugh there was little security in having to wait for the meagre handout deemed sufficient for survival. Foodbanks became a lifeline as the pandemic raged and the world stopped.
