The best way to get what we want from life is to first know what we want., and even when we do, we may not even be able to recognize it once it arrives. We may have been taught that the way to get what we want is to follow certain rules, play particular games, or even engage in acts that use less than our highest integrity. The only rules we need to apply are those of intention and connection. In terms of energy, we can see that it takes a lot of energy to keep up a false front or act in a way that is counter to our true nature, but much less energy is expended when we can just be and enjoy connections that energize us in return.
Society has certain expectations of behaviour and the roles each of us should play, but as spiritual beings we are not bound by these superficial structures unless we choose to accept them. Instead, we can listen to our hearts and follow what we know to be true and meaningful for us. In doing so, we will find others who have chosen the same path.
My Thoughts:
In an ideal world this is exactly how it should be, however, in the real world with all the enforced implications for not towing the line, it is anything but. Unless you are very lucky there will always be a need to work, earn money, and interact with society in ways which we may very well not choose, and in that, we often have no choice at all. In the UK, from a very young age we are expected to go to school, we are expected to play by the rules, and we are expected to not challenge the system. Those that do are too often, and too quickly attributed a label that explains their behaviour in terms of lack of conformity, rather than seeing them as unique and driven to higher goals.
After school the fun of adulthood begins. University affords some a kind of freedom, but even then, there are standards to uphold and grades to meet in order for those years to have a chance to pay dividends in later life. Those that go straight into the employment trap will soon see that it is all about compliance, upward progression and, of course money.
A lack of funds can hit hard in many ways. It affects housing, nutrition, health and psychological wellbeing. Knowing what you want, if you do happen to know, will often be of little help at this time, if there is no logistical way of obtaining it.
The key as I see it, is whilst identifying your dreams, it is also putting into action a workable plan to make then come true.
