(Madisyn Taylor)
There are times when we may not feel at our best and brightest. At those times we can take a look at what we might do to let our inner light shine to the fullest. Because we are physical, mental and spiritual beings, we need to determine where our spiritual light is being filtered or blocked.
A simple shift in our thoughts can positively affect our mental state, moving from complaints to gratitude and applying the powerful light of love to any shadowy thoughts. A change of scenery can allow us to see the world in new ways too. Once we are free of our restrictions, we can become still and connect to the power at the centre of our being. It is always there for us, but when we forget to connect … we cannot make the most of our energy.
My Thoughts:
This all sounds dead simple, but I for one find it anything but. It is easy to recognise that the things that are preventing us from doing or achieving the things we wish to, in the way we wish to, but actually finding the right way to get rid of the blockages almost always eludes me.
Meditation helps, but then I find that to escape into a meditative state for even a few minutes helps restore all kinds of balance. Even a few minutes can make me feel better, lighter, calmer and more able to face the things life is throwing at me, however it rarely eradicates any of the issues. If I am lucky it will allow me to re-evaluate things and get them into a better order, but this is never guaranteed.
The way in which I view things does often help. Sorting out if the problem is actually a real problem or just a worry is a good start, then deciding if it something that I can actually resolve puts the context into perspective and starts me on the path of finding out how to go about it. But if I establish that it is not, I am left with worrying about something I have no chance of ever rectifying, so negate it to a pointless exercise.
See, there you have it … written down logically everything should be able to be sorted out, but we all know that is not how it works in reality. Sometimes you just have to accept that our spiritual light is glowing a bit dull and get on with things as best we can until our sparkle comes back.
