This is though, not just the prerogative of any one religion. Regardless of how devoted someone is there is always a little bit of religious licence applied with regards to following the teachings.
There are always things that are ignored and, as much of the scriptures and texts are open to interpretation there is a lot that is simply complied with to accommodate personal analysis and chosen understanding.
If taken in a wider context it could be said that this is the ethos that most people abide by regardless of any religious conviction. Explanations can always be found to justify most actions, albeit often from a very bias perspective and because no two people will totally see things from the same perspective then there will be doubts raised as to if one view is more relevant than another.
Thus, is the way of the world and has been the same throughout time.
