God’s creative act is timeless and timelessly adapted to the ‘free’ elements within it.
Miracles – C. S. Lewis
The advancements of archaeology, geology and the scientific understanding of the past is offering progressive testimony towards evolution, to the extent that there is a legal requirement for it to be taught in schools, rather than creationism theory.
However, many faith schools are opposed to this and continue to educate the pupils in creationism as fact. I feel there is little else they can do, after all the whole premise of a school being run by a particular religion is grounded in a belief. I therefore find it hypocritical of the government to allow self-funded religious schooling but then try to control the teachings of that faith.
If the powers that be in the UK wish to ban the teaching of human race being created in God’s image and it all starting with Adam and Eve, then there should be no faith schools. This, of course will not happen as it would not be cost effect.
