Time for me will change nothing
I will still hear you
I will catch your scent
I will see echoes of you everywhere
I will touch your photo
I will always taste my tears
Years will pass
But now time for you will also change nothing

The Key
The key is surreal No lock or door can accommodate it No one can own it Mere mortals cannot use it Most cannot even see it It holds answers to unfathomable riddles Why is the sky falling? How can unicorns fly? When is the world ending? What will become of mankind? When will anyone listen? The key is surreal … but no one cares Retracing the Past
Rattling my way by train On tracks so often travelled a lifetime ago Journeying into a bygone era A nostalgic trip with too many memories Times that will never be forgotten Coloured by nightmares Familiar places with unexpected twists Ghost of people long gone Tainted recollections The happy and the sad It all looks the same But everything is now changed Life’s Dance
Welcome to my party Over the years I’ve sent out lots of invites Most people have replied Some have rejected me outright Some are still undecided But a lot have attended if only just for a while Some people leave early and are never seen again Many just drop in for brief visits Some to be sociable Others to be nosy A few stayed around for as long as they were getting something out of it And others have just come to steal what they need There have been those that have laughed with me And several that have laughed at me Some just stick around when things stay fun But a cherished few have stayed to help clear up the mess Even though they were not responsible for it Some came early Some late Some stayed for days, weeks, and even years Some forever We all touch someone’s hand briefly as we go through this dance But true friends never leave The Secret that colours the Page
We all hold the key to the one place in the universe that is pure and white White walls, white ceiling, white floor No windows and once the door is shut there is no way of telling where it was There is nothing and everything inside The possibilities are endless … or non-existent A mind can run riot Fantasy lands with creatures from the underworld Outer space, the stars, the planets, are all there to travel Fields and meadows, beaches and mountains Oceans … up above and skimming the waves Or diving down below Discovering the deep magical enchantment Imagination holds the freedom Explore the future Relook to the past Or maybe … simply clear the clutter of an overactive mind to relish the silence What you do in that room, stays in the room Unless you choose to write it down The key is not what is important here … you are Counting Down
Negatives can always be counteracted Abruptness has ten letters as does politeness Obnoxious has nine but then so does wonderful Eight are in horrible and also in kindness Corrupt counts seven but honesty numbers the same Six sees the likes of reject and also accept Wrong has five as does right Four in hurt and also in heal Three for cry but so does joy So, let’s look for the positives and live in an antonym world Emotional Clutter
clearing methods though well-intentioned often fall short of helping maybe because too much is taken on at any one time small steps lead to big changes be rid of confusion physical and emotional clutter discharge stress from the inside gently releasing the underlying causes identifies patterns breaks down resistances holding you back slow down simplify be gentle advocate self-happiness but never simply surrender Emotional Clutter

Inside our subconscious lies the past Unremembered lives already lived Shaping who we are Previous existences evoke memories and emotions Phobias, self-limiting beliefs, physical problems, or innate creative abilities Fear, uncontrollable anger, or low self-esteem Violence, trauma and death Recollections from a different lifetime Strongly draws us to certain people, places, and objects Without us really knowing why Make the most of your past lives by learning from them Sit quietly, go back, observe what you see without judgment Because they will always constantly influence the present Hooked on Writing Challenge
Welcome to My Pity Party Welcome, welcome, welcome Everyone is welcome Let’s make the most of this retched time Come and join us Only misery and woe allowed My curse is thus Every year a dreaded must Together friends and … Old adversaries Marinate your souls once more Yielding to the horrors of the impending new year hammering at the door Pray raise your glass I give to you The customary cheer Yodelled throughout the world this same time every year Place a hand upon your heart and sing Auld Lang’s Syne Robbie Burns … plagiarism at its best Then bogusly threaten You’ll never let old acquaintances be forgotten |
